STRETCHES

1. BACKSTRETCH Lie down with your head off the end of the bed. Put your arms up over your head. Hold for 30 seconds or more, move further off for greater stretch.


2. TURNING Stand still, swing your whole body from the hips. Allow your arms to swing out around until you are facing backwards, then swing back again. Repeat, getting faster.


3. ARM STRETCH Put one arm up over your shoulder and one behind you to link hands. Then do the other arm. Hold for 10 second stretch.

4. ARM SWING Swing each arm in turn forward and back as far as you can. Do this with legs too. 5-10 times (hold on to something to keep your balance).

5. CAT STRETCH Kneel on the floor with arms stretched right out in front of you, lower your head to the floor. Try with knees apart. Hold for 10 seconds or longer.


6. LEG SWING Sit on a table, high enough for you to swing your legs. Loosens knees; especially good before exercise.
