REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Chronic problems

Remedial massage can assist in the management of a number of conditions that cause restriction of movement and pain. Examples of this are arthritis, scoliosis and following a stroke. Massage conditions the muscles that are working harder due to the strain the body is under from the chronic condition. It increases the blood flow so that the body can heal itself faster thus encouraging the maximum movement possible under the circumstances.

Using massage and taking the maximum exercise possible means that the quality of life among sufferers is greatly increased.

Massage also affects the nervous system, and many sufferers also find that muscles are stimulated into working again with the attention of the masseuse. Some of this is due to the physical stimulation, and some to the experience of the remedial masseuse who has seen injured people recover use of their limbs. This experience and optimism is a wonderful encouragement during the hard work of convalescence, especially when you are unsure of the outcome.
